EDITIONS

Same Didacta. You choose how to operate it.

There's no "lite" Didacta and a "full" one. The core source code is identical across all three editions — Sustainable Use License 1.0 (fair-code), no hidden features. The difference is who runs the infrastructure, support and service, and the complementary Enterprise capabilities. Choose based on your technical capacity and operational needs.

COMPARISON

What's actually different between editions?

No edition has gated code. The difference is who operates it, who provides support, and what guarantees come with the service.

WHO IT'S FOR

Which one is yours?

Community — for you if…

You have a technical team that can run servers, you want full control over your infrastructure, you need to audit the code before deploying, or you're evaluating Didacta before deciding.

Cloud — for you if…

You want to start as soon as possible without spending time on servers. You're an academy, company or training department that needs results, not a sysadmin. Or you're moving from another LMS and want to migrate without technical friction.

Enterprise — for you if…

You manage training for hundreds or thousands of users, have integration requirements with internal systems (SSO, HRIS, ERP), need contractual uptime guarantees, or work in a regulated sector (banking, healthcare, public administration).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about editions

Are there features only in Cloud or Enterprise but not in Community?

The core product is identical across all three editions, published under the Sustainable Use License 1.0 (fair-code). There is no "premium mode" of the base software, no core features locked away from free users. There ARE complementary Enterprise capabilities (SLA, managed multi-tenant, custom SSO/HRIS integrations) under the Didacta Enterprise License — they are extensions, not cuts to the core.

Can I migrate from Community to Cloud later?

Yes. Because the code is identical, the migration is direct: we move your database and files to our managed infrastructure and preserve courses, learners, progress and certificates. Assisted migration is included in Enterprise; in Cloud we provide guidance and tooling for you to do it yourself with support.

And the other way? Can I leave Cloud and export everything to my own server?

Yes, at any time. We hand over the full database and associated files, and since the source code is source-available under SUL 1.0 you can keep using it internally without us. No technical or contractual lock-in.

How many users does each edition support?

We don't enforce a per-user limit on any edition — we don't bill per seat. Community scales according to the hardware you deploy. Cloud includes resources sized for academies and mid-sized training departments; once you cross certain thresholds you move to higher tiers. Enterprise is sized to your needs.

Is data hosted in the EU?

Yes. Didacta Cloud runs on EU infrastructure by default (Frankfurt and Madrid). On Enterprise you can choose a specific region and, if required, dedicated infrastructure in the country your compliance demands.

What specific SLA does Enterprise offer?

The standard SLA is 99.9% monthly with contractual compensations for breaches. For regulated sectors we offer 99.95% with guaranteed response times (1 hour for critical incidents) and 24/7 support. Everything is contractually signed.

Can I modify the code and still use Cloud?

The code running on Didacta Cloud is the same as the public one — and it's source-available under SUL 1.0. You can modify your own copy and deploy it internally wherever you want. On Cloud, however, we always run the official up-to-date version to guarantee compatibility with marketplace modules and our support. If you need deep production customizations, that's the use case for Enterprise.

What happens if I stop paying for Cloud?

We notify you in advance, pause the service and keep your data for 90 days in case you want to reactivate or export. After 90 days we delete the data per GDPR. In any case, since Didacta is source-available, you can deploy it yourself at any time.

Do I need a license from my current LMS to migrate?

Not from us. If you come from another LMS, we read standard formats (SCORM, xAPI, native exports) without requiring anything from your previous vendor. The legal side with your current provider is your matter, but technically the migration doesn't depend on them.
